Signs of a Termite Infestation
You might not know you need a termite treatment, but here are the most common signs of termite infestation.
Mud Tubes /Mud Tunnels
Subterranean termites build mud tubes or mud tunnels between their colony and the wood they consume. These pathways may appear as branches of dry mud attached to furniture, sides of poles, even house foundations.
Frass
Frass refers to termite droppings. They appear like sawdust and may be found near a hole in the infested wood.
Discarded Wings
Swarmers lose wings after the initial flight. You can find these discarded wings usually near the termite nest.
Swarmers
These are winged termites that may be mistaken for winged ants. Swarmers are a sure sign of a well-established colony.
Wood Damage
Termite damage is not easy to detect at first since they eat wood from the inside out. But you may notice weakened wood or wood bubbling like a wallpaper.
